Description

These six download-and-print Phonics With Feeling readers target multiple spellings of ‘long’ vowel sounds. They are suitable for students in late Year 1 or Year 2, or slightly older catch-up learners. The purchaser may print up to thirty copies of each book (i.e. 20c per print ex GST). A printable quiz about each book is included, or you can use the online Wordwall quiz.

These books can be used with any sound-to-print phonics teaching sequence at the point at which it is introducing multiple spellings for vowel sounds. They also match the phonics playing cards available here. A Spelfabet workbook for this level is still in production (sorry).

The Set Nine readers introduce new spellings for vowel sounds introduced in previous sets:

  • Revising a…e as in make, a as in making, ai as in rain and ay as in day, and introducing ey as in they, ea as in break, eigh as in weigh and aigh as in straight.
