Download and print this deck of child-sized (5 X 6.5cm) playing cards for fun reading practice. Contain one-syllable words which contrast the vowels “a” as in “cap” with “a…e” as in “cape”. Learners must read all letters carefully so they don’t confuse pairs like gap/gape, mad/made and plan/plane. Words are printed facing both up and down so they can be read from either side of a table.
